Adriana Lima is at the top of Brazilian supermodels. Though she had no
interest in modeling, she entered the competition to support a friend,
and wound up advancing to The Ford’s Supermodel of Brazil, finishing in
first place. She, then, took second place in the Ford’s Supermodel of
the World. After accomplishing that, she moved to New York City and,
thus, her career was born. She signed with Elite Model Management. Soon,
she was on the covers of the international versions of Marie Clare and
Vogue. She walked for Vera Wang, Ralph Lauren, and many others.
She became the Guess Girl in 2000, doing their entire ad campaign for
that year. Later, she represented Maybelline, and was their spokeswoman
until 2009. She’s modeled for the very high end fashions companies,
including bebe, Bulgari, FCUK, Keds, and the list goes on. In 2005, she
became Italy’s cell phone girl, representing Telecom Italia Mobile. A
fun nickname resulted, as she was called the Catherine Zeta-Jones of
Italy.
Adriana’s best known work is, of course, Victoria Secret. She became
an Angel in 2000 and she has been in every show since. She’s done
several commercials for Secret as an Angel, along the side of Bob Dylan
as the Angel from Venice. She’s hosted for E’s network, and has been
featured in several movies and popular television sitcoms. One little
known fact about Adriana is that she is a devout catholic and practices
her religion faithfully. Known as one of the world sexiest women, she
saved herself for marriage!
