Carmen Kass is the supermodel from Estonia. She relocated to Paris at
the age of 18 and soon began to appear on the covers of Vogue, Elle, and
Numero, to name a few. She walked the runway for famous designers such
as Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein, and became a muse to Michael Kors. She has
represented The Gap, Revlon, Sephora, and Dior perfume. Max Factor
signed her to be their spokesperson. Never one to shy away from learning
her craft, and more, she attended the Lee Strasberg Institute to learn
more of acting and body movement.
Carmen has used her supermodel status to pursue other interests that
have meaning in her life. In 2004, she joined the Res Publica Party in
Estonia. When her homeland joined the European Union, she ran for the
European Parliament. Though she did not win, the publicity brought
Estonia in focus and put the country on the map. An excellent chess
player, she is semi-professional in the game. Carmen is also family
orientated. She has partnered with her mother and created Baltic Models
Agency. She has continued to find ways to support her home country, and
recently created a loan company called Credit Market in Estonia. It is
reported the company is experiencing difficulties but these could also
be considered growing pains.
Her own personal love life has been very public dating by Leonardo
DiCaprio and Eric Lobron, a German chess champion. Considered a bit
quirky and opinionated, she has risen above her raising.
